We have named our Reserve Chardonnay in honour of Alma Schild, who raised a family of eight children in primitive conditions while supporting her husband Ben establish the Schild family vineyards.
This Reserve Chardonnay is a testament to Alma Schild and her perseverance and understanding in following her husband and raising a large family in some of the most impoverished times of recent Australian history.
To compliment this Reserve Chardonnay new and old French oak was used along with a small amount of Hungarian oak to give subtle complexities to the wine. This wine has great cellaring potential and is a milestone in winemaking for Schild Estate.
