Johannes Hugo Bernard (Ben) Schild relocated his family, which consisted of a young Ed Schild, to the Barossa Valley to establish their vineyards in 1952 after many years of grain farming in South Australiaâ€(tm)s Mallee region. Following Benâ€(tm)s passing in 1956, 15 year old Ed took the reins of the family farm to continue the work started by his father.
This Reserve Shiraz is a testament to Ben Schild and the foresight he had to settle in the most famous of Australiaâ€(tm)s wine regions, the Barossa Valley. Through careful selection of the best fruit from our low yielding Angus Brae vineyard, situated in the cooler southern end of the Barossa. We have created the Ben Schild shiraz in a ‘blockbuster styleâ€(tm) the palate abounding in spices, intense tannins and ripe black fruits and a structure that will ensure this wine will endure many years in the cellar.
